A rural property outside Mannford turned into a full-scale rescue scene as Creek County deputies and the Humane Society of Tulsa pulled dozens of animals out of what officials described as squalid conditions. Dogs, cats, goats and birds were removed from the site, with many receiving emergency care on the property before being transported to Tulsa for treatment. One woman connected to the property was taken into custody while investigators documented the scene.
Search warrant and the scene
Deputies executed a search-and-seizure warrant at a property near Highway 33 and Highway 48 outside Mannford, according to FOX23. The outlet reported that rescuers found not only dogs but also cats, goats and birds on the property, and that the Humane Society of Tulsa immediately flagged donation needs for livestock supplies. FOX23 also reported that a woman was arrested in connection with the search.
Rescue response and animal conditions
Responders set up a mobile medical bus as a makeshift hospital after removing dozens of animals from the property, according to KJRH. The station reported that 28 dogs were transported to the Tulsa Humane Society for treatment.
Evan Fadem, executive director of the Humane Society of Tulsa, told KJRH the animals were “super emaciated,” with many suffering from flea and tick infestations and wounds believed to be caused by tight collars. According to the station, some animals were formally surrendered to rescuers on the scene so they could receive immediate care.
Past calls and local context
This is not the first time the rural address has drawn attention. Neighbors and deputies have responded to the same property before, and News On 6 reported a similar seizure there in 2017 after complaints about neglected animals. That earlier response led to some animals being returned after spay and neuter procedures and others being rehomed, highlighting a pattern of repeated concerns at the site.
Legal next steps
Investigators are documenting the conditions and gathering evidence to hand over to prosecutors. Deputies told KJRH that the decision on whether to file criminal charges will be up to the District Attorney’s Office. FOX23 reported that the woman arrested in connection with the search remains in custody while the investigation continues.
