Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse's Akron outpost is set to fire up the grills again on March 6, bringing steaks, live music and expanded event space back to Montrose after a multi-year closure. The relaunch follows an interior overhaul meant to sharpen the dining room and bar for private parties and weeknight entertainment. Reservations are expected to open a few days earlier, giving Akron diners a shot at snagging one of the first tables.
According to Hyde Park Restaurant Group, the restaurant's Akron page lists the location as "OPENING MARCH 6th, 2026" and notes that reservations will be available beginning March 1. The page also lists a private-events phone line for bookings and the eatery's regular hours. Management has already added a reservations block to its booking system ahead of the relaunch.
Renovation Adds Live Piano, Valet And Bigger Bar
The overhaul cost roughly $1.8 million and brought in new amenities aimed at turning the restaurant into more of a destination for dinners and private events, as reported by Cleveland.com. The outlet notes that the work added a piano for live music Wednesday through Saturday, valet parking, a full banquet room that can seat about 70 guests, and a front bar that was doubled in size.
Cleveland.com also reports that menus at Hyde Park locations are about 85% similar, the chain operates more than a dozen locations across five states, and the Akron menu will include American wagyu. The outlet notes the Akron restaurant first opened in 1999 and closed on March 20, 2020. Owner Joe Saccone told the paper he was "excited" about the return and disappointed the reopening could not happen sooner.
Menu Notes And Chain Footprint
Hyde Park's locations pages show the chain's booking tools and private-dining options, and the Akron page is now handling reservations for the relaunch, per Hyde Park Restaurant Group. The company has been refreshing several of its outlets over the past few years, and the Akron investment fits that pattern. Event planners will likely watch to see whether the new banquet room and valet service change how larger bookings are handled on the Montrose strip.
The March 6 reopening will return a longtime steakhouse to Akron's dining scene and could nudge local catering and event calendars. Management has not released a full hiring or soft-opening schedule publicly, but the company added a private-events line on its Akron page ahead of the relaunch. We will update when the restaurant posts its opening-night menu and schedule.
