An ongoing investigation is in place after a body was discovered this morning in Lake County, stated the Sheriff's Office. Found in a grassy strip near the intersection of State Road 46 and Sleepy Bear Lane, emergency services from Lake EMS and Fire Rescue were called to the scene and confirmed the individual deceased upon arrival, according to WFTV.
Due to this incident, there has been a significant disruption to the local traffic with State Road 46 now closed to all motorists, stretching from Cypress Mill and Sleepy Bear Lane, the deputies reported. Amidst traffic rerouting, the local schools have been informed to mitigate impacts on the morning commutes, while school bus transportation is coordinating alternate routes for students those needing to navigate the areas around Sleepy Bear Lane.
Crime scene specialists are currently thorough at work, joined by detectives from the Lake County Sheriff's Office, collecting evidence and sweeping the area forensically, according to WESH.
