According to the City of Jacksonville, lost animals often remain within a few blocks of home, making it important to narrow the search area. The updated website also includes a list of animals brought to the shelter as strays, along with the dates they were found, allowing owners to check for missing pets.
Supporting the update is Petco Love Lost, a free tool used to centralize information on lost and found pets. The platform operates as a national database, and Jacksonville Animal Care & Protective Services encourages residents to register their pets and keep microchip information current, whether the animals are missing or not.
