The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office recently used social media to remind drivers about the importance of proper vehicle registration tags. A post featuring Officer Tanner May from the Traffic Enforcement Unit highlighted the consequences of driving without a license plate using a real-life example.

According to a Facebook post on the JSO’s official Facebook page, Officer May stopped a driver operating a vehicle without a license plate. The driver said he had recently purchased the car and was on his way to obtain a tag.

The JSO used the incident to advise new car owners that it’s safer to arrange alternative transportation until the proper registration is secured rather than driving without a plate.
