The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is on the lookout for a Valentine's Day shoplifter with expensive taste. On the evening of February 14, an individual entered a Southside beauty supply store and made off with six bottles of Dior perfume, collectively valued at over $900, without intending to pay for them. The suspect was caught on camera, and the images have since been circulated by law enforcement in an attempt to nab the perfume pilferer.
According to the post shared by the Jax Sheriff's Office, the suspect was clad in a white button-up, mint green pants, white shoes, and accessorized with sunglasses and a hat – a perhaps not-so-subtle disguise for an indoor escapade. The shoplifter perused the aisles and promptly exited the store, sidestepping the usual transactional formalities at the cash register. The JSO offered a detailed account of the event: "You walked in like any shopper looking for the perfect Valentine’s gift but stopping at the register was clearly not on your list."

Our eyes locked on Valentine’s Day (February 14) as you strolled into a beauty supply store on the Southside around 7 p.m., clearly on a mission to steal… pic.twitter.com/9eIcDQmGnE
In their call to the public, the JSO infused a touch of humor into the situation with a Valentine's themed plea: "If you recognize this scent-imental valentine, give us a call." They encouraged anyone with information to reach out to the listed phone number or to contact First Coast Crime Stoppers anonymously. The sheriff's office reiterated that tips could be financially rewarded, illustrating their commitment to closing the case.
