Owner Kevin Jeffers says KJ's will be a modern American restaurant and social bar serving breakfast, lunch, happy hour and dinner, although he has not given a firm opening date.
Owner's pitch and hiring
As reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, KJ's began teasing its debut on Facebook and posted help-wanted ads for cooks, servers and bar staff. In a statement to Neon, Jeffers described the project as "a modern American restaurant and social bar offering an approachable dining experience rooted in community." The Review-Journal noted that the statement did not include a timeline for opening, leaving locals to keep refreshing their feeds for an official date.
The space's history
The Pepper Club, Todd English's Arts District restaurant inside The ENGLiSH Hotel, opened as part of the property's 2022 launch and later posted a notice that it would close on December 20, according to The Pepper Club. The Pepper Club site lists the address as 921 S. Main St., at the corner of Coolidge Avenue, which is the storefront KJ's will occupy. The ENGLiSH Hotel dining page also references Pepper Club as the hotel's signature restaurant when it debuted in 2022.
Downtown dining churn
Locals have watched a steady shake-up in the city's dining scene over the past year, with several notable closures and rebrands across the valley. Eater Vegas included Pepper Club among the recent restaurant changes as part of the area's ongoing turnover, underscoring that downtown concepts often have to convince both locals and tourists to buy in. Martinez posted short Instagram videos previewing the remodel, the Review-Journal reports, providing some of the clearest glimpses yet of the evolving layout and finishes. Those permit actions suggest the team is preparing the space for a commercial kitchen and a fully functional bar, although inspections and final approvals could still take weeks.

For now, KJ's is essentially a placeholder name and a promise: community-minded food, a full bar and service across all-day shifts.
