South Beach is about to get a lot crispier. Kung Fu Chicken, the Miami-born Asian street-food chicken concept from chef Yu Bi and Dr. Tingjun Lei, is opening its biggest location yet along Washington Avenue, taking over roughly 1,600 square feet and seating around 40 guests, officials say. The new outpost will layer in night-market-style items like a Master Chicken Steak and house-made radish kimchi alongside the brand’s Classic and Lava sandwiches. It will be the third Miami shop for the brand, which already operates near Florida International University and in Little Havana.
According to WhatNow, the Washington Avenue restaurant is slated to open in March and will be the chain’s largest location so far. The space is set up for both dine-in and takeout and sits just a few blocks from Lincoln Road and Española Way, positioning it squarely in the South Beach flow of tourists and locals.
On the restaurant’s official site, the team touts a 24-hour marinade and a lighter tapioca-starch coating designed to keep the chicken crisp without feeling too heavy. The Miami Beach address appears there with a “Coming on February 2026!” note, and the site also confirms the existing FIU-area and Little Havana locations. Taken together, those details suggest the opening window may shift a bit as the owners work through permits and staffing before fully firing up the fryers.
What To Expect On The Menu
Regulars can expect to find the Classic Chicken Sandwich and the panko-crusted Lava Sandwich on the South Beach lineup, along with snacks like Crispy Fingers and several new items created just for this spot. The menu features a Master Chicken Steak inspired by Chinese night markets and a spread of sauces ranging from Sweet Sriracha to a house Kung Fu Sauce, according to Miami Living. Smoothies and sides such as Corn Cheese and Chicken Gyoza round things out for anyone who wants more than just a sandwich fix.
Local Footprint And Timing
The husband-and-wife team behind 107 Taste and Cajun Boil has been quietly building a mini Miami dining empire, with local coverage tracking their moves into Kendall, Wynwood and now South Beach. Reporting from Edible South Florida frames the latest Kung Fu Chicken expansion as part of a broader local appetite for Asian-inspired fast casual concepts. For beachgoers and late-night diners, the larger South Beach footprint is expected to translate into quicker service and more dine-in seating than the earlier, smaller shops.
What The Owners Say
Chef Yu Bi told WhatNow, “We can’t wait for everyone to experience it for themselves!” as she described the level of care that goes into the chain’s recipes. A firm opening date and operating hours are expected to be announced soon, once the final round of preparations on Washington Avenue is complete.
