Brewella’s, the compact crepe-and-coffee nook that helped turn a slice of Madison Avenue into a Lakewood hangout, is getting ready to outgrow its original home. The shop will pour and plate for the last time at its current space this Saturday, serving from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., before shifting a short walk down the block into a larger storefront. The owners expect to pause service for about a week in early March while contractors wrap up the new interior, with regulars promised the same crepes and collectible-stuffed vibe in a roomier setting once doors reopen.
According to Cleveland.com, Brewella’s will hold its final day at 16806 Madison Ave. this Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., then relocate to 16426 Madison Ave. The outlet reports that the owners plan a brief closure during the first week of March to finish work on the new space before welcoming customers back.
A Lakewood favorite since 2018
Co-owners Chris Murphy and Joe Keppler opened Brewella’s in August 2018 and steadily built a loyal following with sweet-and-savory crepes and a constantly changing, thrift-store-chic interior. As Cleveland Magazine noted, Murphy said the team wanted to make things “a little more efficient and comfortable for everyone, including our staff,” which helped drive the search for a larger storefront. The new address, in the former Lakewood Music Collective space, keeps Brewella’s on Madison Avenue just a block from its original door.
What the new space will add
Cleveland.com reports that the bigger footprint will let Brewella’s expand its food offerings, install a more complete kitchen, and host additional events and workshops that the current compact setup struggles to handle. Owners have framed the move as a way to give staff more breathing room during busy rushes and to open up options for classes and private gatherings that were tough to pull off in the original space. The upgrade keeps the business anchored on the same stretch of Madison Avenue while boosting its behind-the-scenes capabilities.
Practical details
The shop’s website still lists the current address as 16806 Madison Ave. and provides regular hours and contact information for updates. Customers can find the menu and phone number on Brewella’s. The owners have been sharing photos and progress shots on their social channels as they get the new room ready.
Last chance this weekend
With Saturday’s hours limited, fans who want one more visit to the original storefront would be wise to show up early, whether they are settling in for a crepe or grabbing one to go. For the latest word on the reopening timeline and upcoming events in the new space, the shop’s Linktree lists its Instagram handle as @brewellas.
