A late-night fire damaged the ground-floor café at Phoenix Dream Center near 35th and Grand avenues, causing heavy smoke and water damage and disrupting services. Fire crews responded around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday and quickly extinguished the flames, with no injuries reported as the nonprofit assesses damage and helps affected clients.
What firefighters found
Crews from the Phoenix Fire Department arrived to find smoke pouring from the first floor. A large fire was spreading through the café area before firefighters brought it under control, according to ABC15 Arizona.
