
A 34-year-old man died Tuesday night in a violent single-car crash on Chicago’s West Side after his sedan left the roadway and slammed into a tree along Hamlin Boulevard near Washington Boulevard. Emergency crews found him inside the damaged vehicle, pulled him from the sedan and rushed him to Stroger Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The stretch of Hamlin near Washington was temporarily shut down while first responders worked the scene and cleared the wreckage.
Crash details
The crash unfolded around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Chicago Police Department, when a black sedan heading north on Hamlin jumped the curb and struck a tree. Officers said the 34-year-old driver was the only person in the car. He was taken to Stroger Hospital and later died from his injuries, as reported by FOX 32 Chicago.

Chicago police said the crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine what caused the sedan to leave the roadway and jump the curb.
