A man was fatally shot in the head following a dispute inside a Queens laundromat last Saturday morning. Police responded to an assault at Wash and Fold Super Laundry on North Conduit Avenue in Springfield Gardens, where they found 31-year-old Dominick Lowery critically injured from a gunshot wound. Witnesses and nearby store patrons attempted to assist Lowery before emergency personnel arrived, according to ABC7NY.
According to witnesses, some bystanders wanted to perform CPR on Lowery but did not intervene because another person was already providing aid. Lowery, who had worked overnight shifts at the laundromat for about three years, was transported to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The search for the shooter is ongoing. Police are investigating whether Lowery and the assailant knew each other and what led to the dispute. Authorities have not made any arrests and have not released a description of the suspect, AMNY reports. Lowery’s mother, who also works at the laundromat, was present at the scene during the incident.
