The incident took place near UFO Bar, located at the 2100 block of Trumbull Avenue close to Michigan Avenue, as reported by CBS News Detroit. The police were called to the scene around 1:17 a.m., where they found that the man, after a dispute with the security personnel, had produced a gun and initiated the shooting.
The security guard, a licensed Concealed Pistol License (CPL) holder, responded to the threat by firing back, striking the man, who was later hospitalized; his condition remains undisclosed, according to information obtained by Audacy and CBS News Detroit. In the midst of this chaotic confrontation, no other injuries were reported, and police recovered both weapons used during the incident.
