
The Matthews Police Department’s C.O.R.E. Unit received the "Community Impact Award" from the Matthews Area Chamber of Commerce. The unit was recognized for organizing events and programs that strengthen community relationships in Matthews, according to the Matthews Police Department's Post.
A photo with the announcement showed Chamber representatives Andrew Pickering and Jessica Tullar alongside Sgt. Warren, Chief Avens, and Officer Sweet. The award recognized the C.O.R.E. Unit’s ongoing dedication to community engagement.
