After a detailed investigation spanning several months, the Maynard Police Department executed a search warrant at a local apartment, leading to the arrest of a Maynard man on multiple drug-related charges. John Fenton, a 31-year-old resident of Maynard, faces accusations including trafficking methamphetamine and possession of assorted classes of substances, as reported by the Maynard Police official website.
The investigation culminated on Monday when authorities served a warrant at 145 Waltham St., Unit 5. The search revealed over 36 grams of methamphetamine, other drugs, packaging materials, drug paraphernalia, and several stolen identity documents. While Fenton was not present during the raid, a subsequent arrest warrant quickly led to him being apprehended.
During his arraignment on Monday in Concord District Court, Fenton was ordered held on $5,000 cash bail. “The success of this investigation reflects the tireless work, dedication, and professionalism of the Maynard Police Department’s Detectives and Patrol Officers, who worked diligently over many months to bring this case to a successful conclusion,” stated Chief Troiano, committing further to relentlessly pursue to stop individuals involved in illegal narcotics operations, as noted by the Maynard Police Department.
The Maynard Police made it clear that the arrest is part of a broader initiative to combat the distribution of illegal narcotics within the community. However, they also emphasized that these are merely allegations and that all defendants, including Fenton, are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The department's success hinges not only on its dedication but also on collaborations with local, state, and federal partners who assisted throughout the investigation process.
