
A late-night crash outside the Wahiawā Wendy’s turned into a homicide early Friday when Honolulu Police found the driver unconscious with stab wounds. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to the Honolulu Police Department on their X account.

Police: Homicide Investigation Underway
District 2 patrol officers responded to a reported vehicle crash in front of the Wahiawā Wendy’s at about 12:41 a.m. on Feb. 13, 2026. When they reached the scene, they found the driver unresponsive with apparent stab wounds, Honolulu Police said.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Police have opened a homicide investigation. Detectives said the suspect is unknown and that the case remains an active investigation.
Where It Happened
The incident unfolded in front of the Wendy’s on South Kamehameha Highway in Wahiawā. The restaurant’s Wahiawā location is listed at 30 S. Kamehameha Hwy on the company’s store page. Police have not yet released details on how the stabbing and the vehicle crash are connected.
Violence Near Oʻahu Fast-Food Spots
Deadly violence at fast-food restaurants has rattled Oʻahu communities before. In October 2024 a customer allegedly stabbed and killed a worker at a Nanakuli Wendy’s, according to Hawaii News Now. Wahiawā has also seen fatal stabbings in recent years. A 2019 killing there eventually led to a conviction, as reported by the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.

Police said they are not releasing further information for now and are asking the public for help as they try to track down whoever is responsible.
