Flames were doused and smoke cleared from a home on Perthshire Court in Montgomery County, as local firefighters tackled a small kitchen fire. The Montgomery County Maryland – Fire & Rescue Service (MCFRS) responded swiftly to the emergency call in Box Area 20-02, finding the blaze confined to the first floor of a single-family residence.
According to the MCFRS, the firefighters "quickly extinguished the fire, checked for extension, removed smoke from the home, and completed other necessary fire department operations." Fortunately, this incident was resolved without any reported injuries.
In the wake of the contained kitchen fire, MCFRS took the opportunity to remind residents about fire safety. They stressed that kitchen fires are among the most common causes of residential blazes, urging never to leave cooking unattended, keep flammable items away from the stove, and ensure the presence of working smoke alarms on every level of the house.
