Mussels, beer and big screens are on their way to Annapolis Town Center. Augie’s Mussel House & Sports Bar is slated to open later this month, with a late February debut planned for what will be the brand’s first Maryland location.
The concept brings its mussel-forward, beer-garden energy down the road from Old Town Alexandria, where the flagship built a following around Belgian-inspired pub fare and a lengthy draft list, according to Augie’s website. The restaurant’s site also lists Annapolis as the brand’s newest spot, confirming that this will be the company’s first outpost in the state.
Menu and vibe
The Annapolis menu will largely mirror the Alexandria original while adding a Maryland twist, with shareable appetizers, cocktails, wine and mussel and clam preparations that can be paired with fries, linguini or risotto, Eye On Annapolis reports.
The same outlet notes that the new space is being set up with game day in mind, including multiple large-screen TVs, high-top seating, dartboards and arcade games.
Replacing Urbano at the center
Augie’s will move into the unit formerly occupied by Urbano Mexican Fare at Annapolis Town Center, taking over 1915 Towne Centre Blvd., Suite 150 next to P.F. Chang’s. Town-center spokesperson Lisa Geiger told Patch, “We are excited to welcome this new concept to Annapolis Town Center and look forward to sharing additional leasing updates soon.”
When to expect a soft opening
Augie’s is already hiring for the Annapolis location and posting staffing notices on its updates page, according to Augie’s updates. The current timeline points to a late February opening per the same updates.
For the latest on soft-opening details and official hours, the brand is directing would-be diners to its website and social channels, according to Eye On Annapolis.
