A quiet Castaic neighborhood turned into a crime scene Saturday after a male adult was found dead in the 32700 block of Ridge Top Lane, drawing Los Angeles County Sheriff’s homicide detectives to the area.
Deputies were called out at about 2 p.m., and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. No suspect has been identified, and investigators spent the afternoon canvassing nearby homes and roads for any clues or witnesses.
Officials Release Early Details
In a social media post, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said Homicide Bureau Lieutenant Daniel Vizcarra is leading the investigation and confirmed the call for service came in at approximately 2 p.m. Saturday.
Detectives are asking anyone who might have seen or heard something, or who has security or dashcam footage from the area, to contact investigators. The Ridge Route corridor and the neighborhoods north of Santa Clarita may look mostly suburban-rural, but they have periodically drawn serious law-enforcement attention.

Taken together, those cases highlight that while Castaic is generally quiet, it has occasionally found itself under regional homicide scrutiny.

Homicide detectives are expected to continue processing the Ridge Top Lane scene and working with the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner to officially determine the victim’s identity, as well as the cause and manner of death.
