A shooting victim turned up at an HCA hospital in northwest Houston late Thursday afternoon with multiple gunshot wounds, prompting an immediate response from Harris County Sheriff's Office investigators. Deputies and detectives gathered at the facility while medical staff worked on the patient, and authorities said they still do not know where the shooting actually took place. They expect to learn more once they can sit down and speak directly with the victim, as reported by KPRC Click2Houston.
According to KPRC Click2Houston, the victim arrived at an HCA Houston Healthcare facility in the 700 block of Cypress Creek Parkway, where Harris County deputies responded to open an investigation. The outlet reported that as of Thursday evening, the circumstances surrounding the shooting remained unclear while investigators worked to interview the patient.
The 700 block of Cypress Creek Parkway corresponds to the HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest campus, listed at 710 Cypress Creek Parkway on the HCA Houston Healthcare locations directory. That listing places the hospital among several HCA facilities serving north Harris County.
Harris County has partnered with hospitals on a hospital-linked violence interruption program that meets patients at the bedside to try to break cycles of retaliation and connect survivors with services, according to a news release from Harris County Precinct One. The release notes that the effort began at HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest and has since expanded to additional locations.
