Two more people are now behind bars in a violent Molotov cocktail attack that rocked a Naranja neighborhood last spring. Deputies say a March 25, 2025 firebombing at a home near the 27000 block of Southwest 143rd Street in southwest Miami-Dade left a teenage girl severely burned and terrified relatives scrambling for safety. The latest arrests, both Homestead residents, bring the total number of people charged in the case to four. Investigators say the device exploded inside the family’s living room and burned the teen on nearly half of her body.

What deputies say about the arrests

Rosita Ashlee Villarreal, 33, and Adrien Perez, 19, were taken into custody Thursday, according to Local10. Jail records list first degree arson and conspiracy charges for both. Deputies say two other suspects, Yang Chiong and Ricardo Alberto Munoz Manriquez, had already been arrested on multiple attempted felony murder and arson counts tied to the same attack. Local officials say Villarreal and Perez were being held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, with bond noted as "to be set" in booking records.

Victim and family response

Family members told CBS Miami the teenager was sitting in the living room with younger relatives when a flaming jar came crashing through a window. Relatives pulled her away from the fire and rushed her to Baptist Health Homestead Hospital before she was airlifted to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital’s burn unit for surgery and critical care. Neighbors and loved ones described frantic efforts to smother the flames and shouted pleas for witnesses as deputies combed the block for leads.

Surveillance and purchase trail investigators describe

Detectives say security video from a Dollar General shows a man and woman buying two glass torch mason jars and a lighter, then paying with a tap to pay phone, Local10 reports. According to investigators, financial records tied the purchase to a Navy Federal account. Perez allegedly waived his Miranda rights and told detectives he bought the items at his uncle’s request and delivered them to Yang Chiong. Deputies say texts recovered from seized phones included a photo of the victim’s driver’s license and a Google Maps image of the home. At the scene, investigators collected fragments of a mason jar, a partially burned wick and window damage they say matches something being hurled into the house.

Charges and what comes next

The new arrests refocus attention on a case that has stirred community outrage since last March. Earlier coverage detailed the teen’s critical injuries and her family’s urgent pleas for justice in the days after the blast, including a report on the teen in critical condition. Prosecutors and the sheriff’s arson unit say the investigation is still active, with more filings, case updates and court dates expected as the charges move through Miami-Dade’s criminal courts.
