Nearly 600 pounds of methamphetamine were seized at the Blue Water Bridge before entering Canada. The seizure occurred earlier this month when the Canada Border Services Agency inspected a commercial truck from Michigan. A K-9 unit alerted officers to 16 duffle bags containing the drugs, totaling 266.4 kilograms (587 pounds), according to ClickOnDetroit.
Kulbir Singh, 29, of Ontario, was arrested and faces charges of importing methamphetamine and possession for trafficking.
Since January 1, 2025, officers in Southern Ontario have confiscated over 1,300 pounds of methamphetamine from the U.S., according to WXYZ.
The incident highlights ongoing meth trafficking challenges. An investigation into the smuggling is ongoing, as reported by CBS Detroit.
