Renwick Hospitality Group plans to open a rooftop cocktail bar, Golden Child, at Hotel Park Ave in NoMad, expected to debut in Spring 2026. The new bar will join the building’s existing Park Rose and the upcoming Seed Library, expanding Renwick’s portfolio of food and beverage offerings in Manhattan.
On the Hotel Park Ave restaurants and bars page, Golden Child is listed as the property’s rooftop concept, with an opening target of Spring 2026. Renwick Hospitality Group, which also operates Park Rose and other city venues, confirms on its site that it is behind the project.
According to Crain's New York Business, Golden Child will span roughly 3,000 square feet on the hotel’s 15th floor, combining an outdoor terrace with indoor seating. Crain's reports that the cocktail list will be broken into tongue in cheek sections like "Core Curriculum," "Study Break," "Honors Program" and "Electives," with drinks priced around $18 to $22. The setup points to a cocktail forward program positioned to serve both hotel guests and nearby office and neighborhood crowds.
Design and Vibe
Renwick co owner Gary Wallach told What Now New York that Golden Child is meant to feel like "an accessible club," with an Ivy League inspired design that leans into familiarity rather than flashy exclusivity. RDStudios is reported to be handling the buildout, aiming for a collegiate meets clubroom aesthetic that Wallach described as "homey" even though the layout is entirely new. The team says the space is being designed to complement Park Rose and Seed Library, not to compete with them for the same crowd.
Property Backstory
The 20 story building at 444 Park Ave South, formerly the Mondrian Park Avenue, changed hands in mid 2023 when Global Holdings Management Group took control, according to CoStar. City records cited by Crain's New York Business put the purchase price at about $125.7 million, part of the hotel’s post pandemic reshuffling. The relaunch as Hotel Park Ave has focused on installing distinct food and beverage tenants under one roof to give both overnight guests and local residents more options.
Where Golden Child Fits
When it opens, Golden Child will bring a new rooftop perch to NoMad’s growing roster of hotel bars and terraces, arriving amid a wave of hotel refreshes and restaurant debuts in the neighborhood over the past year. On its website, Renwick Hospitality Group highlights a portfolio of New York City projects and casts itself as a frequent hotel partner, which helps explain why operators keep tapping the group for multi concept food and beverage lineups. Early descriptions suggest Golden Child is being shaped as a design focused setting for sunset cocktails and small plates rather than a late night dance floor.
Hotel Park Ave also notes that the rooftop will first be available for private events before opening fully to the public, and Renwick has said that menu details and operating hours are still being finalized. If the current timeline holds, Golden Child is poised to be one of NoMad’s more talked about rooftop debuts this spring, offering another spot to take in skyline views with a carefully made drink in hand.
