A North Hollywood residential block turned into an active crime scene late Thursday night when a 17-year-old boy was shot in the eye, sending detectives into a race to find who pulled the trigger.
The shooting was reported just after 8 p.m. in the 11000 block of Kittridge Street, according to police. The teen was rushed to a hospital, and authorities say several people bolted from the area before officers arrived.
Police Details
Los Angeles Police Department Officer Jader Chaves told NBC Los Angeles that four males, believed to be between 17 and 18 years old, were seen fleeing toward Vanowen Street in a black Honda Accord.
According to police, the teen was struck in the eye by gunfire. No arrests have been made, and officers have not recovered a firearm.
