Two men were shot and killed Sunday evening on Milwaukee’s north side near North 12th Street and West Concordia Avenue, leaving neighbors shaken and drawing a heavy police response to the residential block. Witnesses described officers quickly taping off the area as investigators worked into the night.
According to WISN 12 News, the victims were a 24-year-old man and a 28-year-old man, both of whom died at the scene after gunfire erupted just after 5:30 p.m. Reporters at the scene said officers appeared to be centering their investigation on a house along North 12th Street, and that the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office was called to that location.
Investigators Zero In On North 12th Street Home
Milwaukee continues to wrestle with a high number of killings. FOX6 Milwaukee reported that the city recorded 142 homicides in 2025, reversing a short-term decline from the previous year. Local violence-prevention groups and the Milwaukee Homicide Review Commission have called for more targeted interventions in hot-spot neighborhoods, including portions of the north side where recent shootings have clustered.
WISN 12 News also reports that Milwaukee police said they were not actively searching for suspects. Investigators asked anyone with information to contact the department at 414-935-7360 or Crime Stoppers at 414-224-TIPS. The station says family members of the victims were at the scene while officers collected evidence and spoke with neighbors.
