An early-morning visit to a friend’s place on Houston’s northside ended in deadly gunfire on Wednesday, when a man was shot in the parking lot of an apartment complex and collapsed inside the unit, according to police.
Houston police say officers were called just before 5 a.m. to reports of gunfire in the 7300 block of Jensen Drive. Investigators say the victim had stepped out to the complex’s parking lot for reasons that are still unclear. Moments later, shots rang out and the man stumbled back into the apartment, where he died.

According to ABC13 Houston, multiple witnesses reported hearing the gunfire, and detectives are now interviewing people who might be able to piece together what happened outside the building. As of now, investigators have not released a suspect description or a possible motive, and say the case remains very much active.
