Three families crowded into the FBI's Oakland field office yesterday after federal agents told them that the disappearances of three women, 17-year-old Morgan Crenshaw, 20-year-old Heaven McGee, and 19-year-old Tatiana Dugger, may be connected and possibly tied to human trafficking. It was an emotional meeting, with relatives describing months or years of waiting for answers and vowing not to let the cases fade from public view. Investigators said the emerging pattern now stretches from the East Bay to rural Northern California, opening up new lines of inquiry.
FBI says the cases are linked to trafficking
According to KTVU, FBI agents told the families they believe the three cases are likely linked to one another and to human trafficking. Federal investigators are now coordinating with Oakland police, Antioch police and the Butte County Sheriff's Office. Families were invited to the bureau's Oakland office to hear the agents' assessment and discuss what comes next.
What investigators say about Morgan Crenshaw
Antioch police say 17-year-old Morgan Crenshaw was last seen in late September and reported missing in early October. Her phone was later found on a curb near International Boulevard, close to an abandoned warehouse where family members say they discovered wigs and women's clothing, according to SFGATE. Authorities have called the case suspicious, and Detective Ashley Allen is leading the investigation.
Earlier disappearances tied into the review
Heaven McGee vanished in January 2025. The FBI previously joined the search and offered a $10,000 reward, according to Hoodline. In a separate case, Tatiana Dugger disappeared from the same corner in 2021, and her remains were later identified on U.S. Forest Service land in Siskiyou County, per CBS San Francisco.
Trucker theory and the vehicle under review
FBI Special Agent Marty Parker told the families that investigators were struck by the remote location where Dugger's remains were found, and that this pattern pointed them toward people who regularly travel the I-5 corridor, such as long-haul truckers. Surveillance footage reportedly shows Morgan approaching and getting into a vehicle. That car has been located and is being processed by the FBI, according to KTVU.
How the public can help
Relatives said the joint briefing was meant to focus law-enforcement resources and keep public attention on the three cases. Families urged anyone with information, no matter how small it may seem, to come forward. Officials have asked witnesses to contact the FBI tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI or reach Detective Ashley Allen at [email protected].
