Oklahoma drivers should expect lane reductions and closures on several highways and streets in the coming months. On S.E. 29th St., traffic is reduced to one lane at I-40 today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for bridge work. I-40 also had single-lane closures on Wednesday and Thursday nights for repairs.

According to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, I-44 off-ramps to N. Classen Blvd. and N. Western Ave. closed intermittently last night and reopened at 6 a.m. today for striping. In Norman, SH-9E near US-77 has been limited to one lane in each direction through early 2026 for bridge replacement. N.E. 23rd St. between Lee Ave. and Harvey Ave. had similar restrictions through mid-February.

Longer-term projects include I-44 corridor widening along SH-152/Airport Rd. through spring 2026, a roundabout at SH-66 in El Reno through early 2026, and street resurfacing on Garth Brooks Blvd. in Yukon through summer 2026. I-44 off-ramps to N.W. 10th St. in Oklahoma City will be closed through summer 2026, and SH-37/S.E. 4th St. in Moore will remain closed between Broadway Ave. and Tower Dr. for railroad bridge work until next summer.

Drivers should plan for delays and consider alternate routes.
