Anthony's Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar in Pasadena is stirring the local scene with news of its reawakening after a slumber of over two years. In an atmosphere filled with anticipation, a recent social media post has signaled the imminent return of a community favorite.
The reason behind the extended closure of Anthony's Pasadena remains shrouded in mystery; however, with the Pasadena location stopping updates on social platforms as far back as 2022, the restaurant has been noticeably absent from the Hog Neck Road shopping center lineup. Despite a hibernation in public updates, behind-the-scenes work has continued. "We intentionally chose not to share specific timelines, as we wanted to ensure we were fully compliant with all permits and county requirements before making any announcements," operators expressed in a social media statement obtained by The Banner.
Anthony's is more than just a single spot - with siblings in Bowie and Clarksville, the Pasadena location is a part of an Italian dining trifecta. Known for pizzas topped with handmade dough and cozy pasta classics like baked ziti and lasagna, the menu also features flash-fried chicken wings, among other crave-inducing options. The excitement around the reopening was palpable, with hundreds of responses to the Facebook post, primarily echoing the community's enthusiasm.
Maintaining regulatory good standing, the Pasadena joint holds an active liquor license, as reported by The Banner, issued in 2025 and set to expire at the end of April. The process for getting back to business was not exactly swift. According to a statement on WMAR-2 News, "The process has taken longer than expected, and we appreciate your understanding as we have worked through every necessary step properly." An exact date for the doors to swing open again hasn't been set, but the anticipation among patrons is strong.
While an official opening date remains under wraps, the forthcoming return of Anthony's is a noted slice of good news for Pasadena locals and Italian food aficionados.
