Pearland’s sweet tooth is about to get a serious upgrade. Sweet June's Bake Shoppe, a home-grown cookie outfit known for its jumbo cookies and nostalgic flavors, is stepping out of the home kitchen and into its first brick-and-mortar storefront Saturday next week. The new shop will trade cottage-style production for a full counter of fresh-baked cookies, brownies, cupcakes and specialty drinks, with an emphasis on oversized treats and throwback flavors.
According to Community Impact, Sweet June's is taking over the unit at 5517 Broadway St., Ste. M in Pearland, with doors set to open on Saturday next week. The business started as a cottage bakery and built a following on its jumbo, nostalgia-heavy cookies. The new space will roll out that same lineup, along with brownies, cupcakes and specialty drinks.
From home oven to storefront
Sweet June's expansion tracks with a familiar route for Texas bakers whose orders have outgrown the home oven. In 2025, the Texas Department of State Health Services updated the state’s cottage-food rules, widening the range of foods that can be produced at home and adding registration options that can make the jump to a storefront a bit smoother for some operators. As outlined by Texas DSHS, the changes also clarified labeling and registration steps for cottage food producers.
What to expect at opening
On opening day, neighbors can look for Sweet June's signature oversized cookies, a rotating lineup of nostalgic flavors, grab-and-go cupcakes and specialty drinks, as per Community Impact. The owners are directing customers to the bakery’s Facebook page for the latest on hours and any opening-week specials.
Sweet June's adds one more dessert stop to Pearland’s growing mix of independent bakeries and coffee hangouts, giving local cookie fans another place to land. Keep an eye on the shop’s social feed for final opening hours and the first-week menu lineup.
