Eric Berkowitz, 41, of Dresher in Upper Dublin Township, faces multiple charges, including criminal solicitation for murder and attempted murder.

According to CBS News, Steven Luker, also of Upper Dublin, exposed the plot on Tuesday, stating that Berkowitz offered him $5,000 to help carry out the murders. Berkowitz allegedly provided a Mac 11 firearm and a burner phone in preparation and planned to travel to New York on Wednesday, targeting one of the intended victims near their residence.

Luker cooperated with authorities, recording his interactions with Berkowitz, which included confirmations of the murder-for-hire plot, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office. Law enforcement arrested Berkowitz on the day he was planning to travel to New York, apprehending him while he was still in an Uber.

When arrested, Berkowitz was found with a duffel bag containing a Masterpiece Arms Grim Reaper firearm with ammunition, cocaine, and a large amount of cash, as per The New York Post. The destination entered into his Uber corresponded to his ex-girlfriend’s address, supporting the allegation of a premeditated plan.

Berkowitz is being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility without bail as authorities emphasize the seriousness of the charges. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 20.
