The Philadelphia Police Department is calling on the community to aid in the search for Dreams Bowden, a 13-year-old girl reported missing from her home since February 6. Bowden was last seen around 8:00 p.m. at her residence on the 1900 block of 69th Avenue. Law enforcement officials have shared concerns for her safety and are urging the public to come forward with any potential leads, according to the Philadelphia Police Department News Blotter.
Bowden is described as 5’8″ tall, weighing approximately 125 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes; she was last seen wearing a black coat, blue jeans, and a blue shirt, the details of her appearance remind us she is someone's child, she is everyone's kin, yet now she is vanished in the humdrum of city life, her footprints dissolved in the urban sprawl. Known to frequent the areas of Castor Avenue and Lawndale Avenue, she may still be within the neighborhoods she knows, perhaps even visible to those who do not yet realize they are witnesses to her plight.
The Northwest Detective Division is leading the investigation and asks anyone who may have seen Bowden or has information about her whereabouts to contact police at 215-686-3353, or call 911 if there is immediate knowledge of her location. Police stress that public assistance is critical, noting that tips from community members can help piece together information that may lead to Bowden’s safe return, as per the Philadelphia Police Department.
