Pinellas County Government will temporarily close certain offices as it conducts an in-service training day for employees on Presidents' Day, Monday. According to an announcement on the Pinellas County official website, this staff development day is designed to allow employees across various departments to better align their work with the county's strategic plan by discussing project priorities.
Several Pinellas County offices will be closed for a training day, including Utilities Customer Service, Human Services, Contractor Licensing, Building and Development Review Services, Pinellas County Animal Services and the adoption center, and the Supervisor of Elections office. Some solid waste services will remain open. The Solid Waste Disposal Complex will operate as usual from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., while the Solid Waste Administration Building, Household Hazardous Waste Center, and Swap Shop will be closed.
Outdoor enthusiasts can take heart that county parks and preserves, boat ramps, beach access areas, and the Florida Botanical Gardens will remain open for public enjoyment. Heritage Village, however, will keep to its regular schedule of being closed on Mondays. Parks and Conservation Resources administrative offices will also be closed.
The Clerk of the Circuit Court, Property Appraiser, and Tax Collector offices will remain open during regular business hours. The Sixth Judicial Circuit courts (Pinellas and Pasco) will also operate as usual. All Pinellas County facilities are expected to resume normal hours on Tuesday.
