Motorists in Pitt County should expect road closures next week as the N.C. Department of Transportation begins culvert replacement work. A section of Whichard Road near Sycamore Church Road is scheduled to close on February 9 and is expected to reopen on February 20, according to the NCDOT.
Additionally, Black Jack Simpson Road over Bates Branch will be temporarily closed from February 10 to February 27 for infrastructure improvements. NCDOT noted that the projects are weather-dependent and dates may be adjusted if conditions are unfavorable.
