Port 32 Marinas has started pre-leasing for its $80 million overhaul of the former PGA Marina in Palm Beach Gardens, opening the books well ahead of the project’s planned debut in December 2026. The new Port 32 Palm Beach Gardens is set to replace the aging 50-year-old metal-barn facility with taller, fully enclosed boat storage, upgraded fueling, and modern service infrastructure.

Construction Progress and Timeline

The old metal barn came down in March 2025, clearing the way for a full reset of the waterfront site. Since then, crews have been busy on foundation, utility, and seawall work, with a steel frame next in line, according to a company release. In a press release via PORT 32, the company says steel erection is the next major milestone and the project remains on schedule for a December 2026 opening.

What the Marina Will Offer

When the dust finally settles, the redeveloped marina is expected to deliver 471 slips, broken out as 451 fully enclosed dry storage spaces and 20 wet slips, according to project documents. The plan also calls for two dry storage buildings rising to 83 feet.

As reported by CBS12, the site will feature a 5,000-square-foot ship’s store with fueling stations that let boats pull right up to the building. The equipment package is designed to handle larger vessels and more severe storms, signaling a move toward heavier-duty operations on this stretch of the Intracoastal.

Local Reaction and City Approval

None of this moved forward overnight. The project secured city approval only after roughly a year of review and a key waiver to boost the maximum height to 83 feet. That extra height drew a mixed response from nearby residents, some of whom worried about losing prized Intracoastal views.

WPTV reported that city staff backed the taller, enclosed buildings, arguing they would actually improve what neighbors see and hear compared with the previous setup of exposed racks and an aging metal structure.

How Port 32 Is Financing Growth

Port 32 has been steadily building a regional footprint and lining up sizable financing to match. In December 2024, Newmark announced it had arranged a $400 million credit facility for PORT 32 Marinas to support projects such as the Palm Beach Gardens redevelopment.

Industry coverage of the Palm Beach Gardens plan and similar efforts points to a broader shift toward higher-capacity, climate-conscious marinas that can serve bigger boats and better protect assets in stronger storms, as reported by MarineWorld.

Pre-Leasing and the Road Ahead

With construction underway, PORT 32 says pre-leasing is now open for boat owners looking for enclosed dry storage and membership services at the Palm Beach Gardens location. While the new complex rises around them, the wet slips currently in use are expected to stay open during construction.

According to the company release, the future facility is engineered to withstand Category 5 winds and will feature heavy-duty forklifts and modern fueling systems meant to move boats faster and cut down launch wait times. If the current schedule holds, the first members should be able to bring their boats into the new marina in December 2026.
