
A quiet stretch of Hufsmith Kohrville Road turned into a crime scene early Thursday after a man was fatally shot near Boudreaux Road in the Tomball area of northwest Harris County, according to deputies. Responding officers found the man with gunshot wounds in the pre-dawn hours, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. Investigators described the case as an active investigation and have so far released limited details about what led up to the gunfire.
Deputies with the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office were dispatched to reports of a shooting in the 24700 block of Hufsmith Kohrville Road at about 2:30 a.m. When they arrived, they discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Click2Houston.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said on social media that a woman has been detained in connection with the shooting, as reported by KHOU. The sheriff’s office has not yet publicly identified the man who was killed or the woman who was detained, and no additional details about their relationship or what might have sparked the shooting had been released, the station noted.
Deputies Say Suspect Tried To Run, But Did Not Get Far
Precinct 4 deputies said the suspect was identified and arrested after she attempted to flee the scene, according to Click2Houston. Crime scene units remained out on Hufsmith Kohrville Road in the early morning hours as investigators worked the area and spoke with potential witnesses to piece together how the deadly encounter unfolded.
Hufsmith Kohrville Corridor Has Seen Trouble Before
The stretch of Hufsmith Kohrville Road near Boudreaux is no stranger to serious crime, a reminder that overnight calls in this part of northwest Harris County can escalate quickly. In 2019, a fatal stabbing near the same intersection drew a large law enforcement response, as previously reported by ABC13.

Officials said the investigation remains ongoing and that no formal charges had been announced as of Thursday morning, according to KHOU. Detectives with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, along with Precinct 4 personnel, continued processing the scene and gathering statements as they tried to determine exactly what happened in the hours before sunrise.
