
A 93-year-old woman was injured after being allegedly pushed on a Queens sidewalk near Elmhurst Hospital, and police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect. The NYPD reported that the incident occurred around 8:50 a.m. at 81st Street and 41st Avenue. Investigators say the man told the woman to move and then pushed her, causing her to fall and hit her head. Emergency responders transported her to Elmhurst Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition. Witnesses reported that the suspect fled northbound on 81st Street toward Roosevelt Avenue.
Surveillance Image And Suspect Description
According to NYPD Crime Stoppers on Facebook, investigators have circulated a surveillance image of the suspect. He is described as bald, with a medium complexion, and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt over a yellow T-shirt and tan pants.
The Crime Stoppers post states that he approached the woman from behind, told her to move, then pushed her to the ground before fleeing northbound on 81st Street toward Roosevelt Avenue.
Reward Offered And Precinct Context
As reported by QNS, the assault took place just before 9 a.m. on Jan. 22 and left the 93-year-old woman with a head injury that required transport to Elmhurst Hospital. A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to the suspect's arrest and indictment.
QNS also notes that, through Feb. 1, the 110th Precinct had logged 40 felony assaults so far in 2026, down from 51 at the same time last year.
