
A 27-year-old man was injured Wednesday, Jan. 28, at around 7:20 p.m. in the Queens Plaza subway station when he was struck in the face with a milk crate, police reported. The impact caused a laceration near his eye, and the suspect fled on foot. Authorities have not identified the assailant and are seeking assistance from the public.

A Facebook reel posted Feb. 13 by NYPD Crime Stoppers includes surveillance footage that, according to the post, shows an assailant walk up behind the 27-year-old and strike him across the face with a milk crate at about 7:20 p.m. The reel states that the impact caused a laceration to the victim's eye and that the suspect ran from the scene on foot.

The NYPD's Crime Stoppers program is asking anyone with information to call 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782), or to submit an Internet tip online. Crime Stoppers notes that rewards of up to $3,500 may be available for tips that lead to an arrest.

Queens Plaza is an express station in Long Island City beneath the eastern edge of Queens Plaza at Jackson Avenue, Queens Boulevard and Northern Boulevard, served by the E, R and F trains, according to Wikipedia. Investigators are asking anyone who was in the passageway that night to check their phones for video and contact police if they have footage or details that could help identify the suspect.
