
A fire broke out at the VFW building on Lincoln Ave last month, but thanks to the quick response of multiple fire departments, the situation was contained with no reported injuries. According to a social media post from the West Chester Borough Fire Department, the emergency call was received at 12:18 PM on Monday. Fire units from West Goshen Township, Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute, West Whiteland Fire Company, and Goshen Fire Company were dispatched to the scene.
On arrival, the crews promptly located an electrical fire involving an outlet inside the building. "Upon arrival, crews located an electrical fire involving an outlet inside the building. The outlet was secured and disabled, and no additional hazards were found," as stated in the social media post. The fire department's swift action allowed them to quickly manage to get the situation under control. West Goshen Township Police Department also provided assistance during the incident.
The situation at VFW was resolved in a relatively short timeframe, with all units clearing the scene by 12:51 PM. It was confirmed that there were no injuries resulting from the incident. "We thank our mutual aid partners for their assistance," as per the West Chester Borough Fire Department.
