Three people were found dead with gunshot wounds inside a northwest Olympia home on Saturday, a discovery that left neighbors rattled and a small cul-de-sac sealed off with police tape as officers worked the scene. Police said they found one man and two women after responding to a call around 10:30 a.m. from someone who reported hearing people arguing followed by gunshots. Detectives stayed on site as the investigation got underway.
According to KIRO 7, the home is on 19th Court NW near 20th Avenue NW and Elliott Avenue NW. The station provided some of the earliest public details, noting that officers remained at the residence while detectives processed the area and that its account links to the police department's social media post on the incident.
Police statement
The Olympia Police Department shared a brief update on its Olympia Police Department Facebook page, stating that officers found three people with gunshot wounds and that detectives were investigating. As of late Saturday, that post, also linked by KIRO 7, was the only official update released by the department. Police have not identified the victims or said whether anyone is in custody.
Neighbors' accounts
Residents reported a heavy police presence in the neighborhood as events unfolded, with multiple patrol cars blocking the cul-de-sac and tape closing off the street. A Reddit thread captured early confusion from people nearby, including posts claiming to relay scanner traffic.
