Attention Raleigh parents, if the winter weather has thrown a wrench into your day with school closures, there's a silver lining thanks to the Raleigh Parks' Weatherbound program. Today, children don't have to be cooped up at home; instead, they can join a supervised day at various park locations where they'll be entertained with games, crafts, and some active fun to beat those indoor blues, according to the City of Raleigh's announcement.
Running from noon to 6 p.m., the program is designed to afford parents some flexibility on these unexpected days off. For the reasonable price of $40, your child can participate at any of the three participating locations: Abbotts Creek, Brier Creek, and Jaycee. Out braving the elements, kids will be safe and warm while parents tackle the day.
Registration is a breeze and can be done quickly to ensure your little ones don't miss out on the fun. Spots are, however, limited, so it's best to act fast. Interested parents can reserve a spot for their children by visiting the official Raleigh Parks' Weatherbound program page.
