Burger lovers in Humble are going without their usual burgers and Blue Bell scoops for now, as Burger Fresh has gone dark on Will Clayton Parkway while it gets ready for a move closer to downtown. The Conroe-born burger joint, which opened its Humble outpost in May 2025, has temporarily closed its location at 12235 Will Clayton Parkway as the owners work to relocate. They blamed rent affordability at the current site and said they plan to reopen at 1502 First St. E., Ste. G in Humble. A reopening date has not been announced.
In a Feb. 23 Facebook post, the owners thanked customers for the “unbelievable turnout” and said that although they managed to “catch up on January's rent,” they “simply haven’t been able to get in front of the ongoing rent challenges” at the Will Clayton Parkway storefront, according to Community Impact. The post framed the closure as a temporary pause intended to help the team “reset, rebuild and come back stronger,” per the same report.
Burger Fresh traces its roots to Conroe in 1997 and brought its retro vibe to Humble on May 22, 2025, when it opened at 12235 Will Clayton Parkway, according to the Houston Chronicle. The Humble spot carried over the brand’s 1950s-style memorabilia and core menu staples when it debuted last spring.
The company says it plans to reopen at 1502 First St. E., Ste. G, and that address is also listed on the restaurant’s official site. Per the restaurant’s site, the Humble/Atascocita listing shows 1502 E 1st St. and a phone number for orders and updates, Burger Fresh notes.
During its run in Humble, the menu featured hamburgers, Philly cheesesteaks, fish baskets, chicken dishes and 16 flavors of Blue Bell ice cream. Owners highlighted those staples in their Facebook post, according to Community Impact. Regulars who had embraced the retro offerings will have to wait for an official reopening announcement.
What to watch
There is no announced reopening date. The owners say the closure is intended to give the team time to regroup. For updates, the restaurant lists its First Street address and ordering contacts on its website, Burger Fresh, and customers can keep an eye on the company’s social pages for further details.
