Members of our Engine Apparatus Committee traveled to Appleton, WI this week to complete final inspections on two brand-new Pierce fire engines. Both engines are built on the Pierce Enforcer chassis and are identical to our current Engine 5, accoding to the Rock Hill Fire Department's Facebook post.
The engines feature a PACCAR MX13 510-horsepower engine, a 1,500 GPM Waterous pump, a 750-gallon water tank, and a 30-gallon Husky foam system. They also include a low hose bed with all hose loads deployed from the rear, matching two additional engines already on order, as reported by the Rock Hill Fire Department.
Keeping our fleet consistent improves safety, efficiency, and simplifies maintenance and logistics. After final maintenance, equipment installation, and training, we expect these engines to be serving the streets of Rock Hill in April.
