After more than a decade feeding hungry shoppers in Roseville, the operator behind O Tasty Mongolian BBQ is staging a comeback, this time in Citrus Heights. The new spot has claimed a corner unit in Copperwood Square, where crews are busy installing a full kitchen and finishing out the interior. Fresh exterior signage is already perched above the entrance, hinting at a familiar setup inside, with build-your-own bowls seared on a circular grill right in front of diners. Fans of the former Galleria counter can expect plenty of déjà vu once doors open.
New Citrus Heights Outpost
According to What Now Sacramento, the rebooted O Tasty Mongolian BBQ is moving into a roughly 3,200 square foot unit at 7056 Sunrise Boulevard in Copperwood Square, with an opening targeted before the end of March 2026. The shopping center sits at the northeast corner of Sunrise Boulevard and Woodmore Oaks Drive, anchored by FoodMaxx and Planet Fitness, so there should be no shortage of pre and post workout diners nearby.
Background
The person behind the project is no stranger to local stir fry fans. O Tasty operated inside the Westfield Galleria at Roseville for more than ten years before that location closed in 2024, a shutdown that popped up in regional roundups of Bay Area and Sacramento restaurant closures. Eater SF notes that the Galleria lease ended, and with it, the long running mall outpost.
Lease And Buildout
Recent leasing activity tied to the Copperwood storefront shows multiple tenants circling the center, including a separate BAD Bakers location planned nearby. The future O Tasty space still needs a full kitchen buildout and equipment installation before any noodles hit the grill. Citrus Heights Sentinel recaps earlier coverage of the lease deals, and state business records point to a Bad Bakers Citrus Heights LLC associated with 7056 Sunrise Boulevard. BizProfile lists the filing for Bad Bakers tied to the Copperwood address.
What To Expect
While a final menu has not been posted, regulars can probably count on the familiar routine. Expect build-your-own bowls piled with sliced meats, noodles, and fresh vegetables, cooked to order on a large circular griddle, along with sides like potstickers, egg rolls, and crab rangoons. What Now Sacramento reports that the operator is sticking with the Mongolian barbecue format that made the mall counter such a reliable stop.
If construction and permitting stay on track, the Citrus Heights O Tasty should be ready to welcome customers by the end of March, according to local reporting, giving former Galleria regulars a new address for their stir fry fix. A posted menu and a firm opening date are expected once crews wrap up the buildout.
