Shady's Burgers & Brewhaha is steering its smash-burger operation straight onto Lake Lewisville, locking in a lakeside spot at Hidden Cove Marina in Frisco with plans to open later this spring. The Richardson-born mini chain says the new location will be reachable by both car and boat, giving neighborhood regulars and weekend boaters a shared waterfront hangout.
Where It Will Sit On The Lake
According to CultureMap Dallas, Shady's is taking over the lakeside space at Hidden Cove Marina, 20400 Hackberry Creek Rd., with a projected opening later this spring. The outlet reports that the Frisco spot will be the brand's third Dallas-area restaurant.
What To Expect From The Menu
The chain's website says Shady's made its name on double-smashed burgers layered with grilled onions and American cheese. The Lake Lewisville outpost is also set to serve tacos, wraps, salads, cold beer and frozen cocktails. The group behind Shady's opened the original Richardson restaurant in 2013, added a Lake Highlands location in 2016 and has leaned into a neighborhood patio feel they are betting will translate nicely to the water.
Marina Access And Local Context
The Hidden Cove Marina website lists boat-friendly facilities and confirms the lakefront address, reinforcing that the new Shady's will be accessible by road and by water. That stretch of Lake Lewisville already has several lakeside dining options, and the addition of Shady's is expected to draw more weekend traffic while giving boaters another easy pull-up spot.
Part Of A Broader DFW Push
The CultureMap report also notes that Shady's is part of the High Five Hospitality group and that the brand has a fourth North Dallas location in the works for later in 2026 as it grows beyond its Richardson roots. The move keeps pace with a wider pattern of homegrown concepts planting additional flags around the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
In the initial announcement, neither Shady's nor High Five offered a firm opening date, instead directing customers to the company's website for updates and marketing contacts. As spring gets closer, the lakefront Shady's is lining up to deliver burgers, cold drinks and another easy landing spot on Lake Lewisville.
