A Michelin-recommended modern steakhouse is heading straight for Charlotte’s skyline. Guard and Grace, a Denver-born concept, is set to open atop the Vivian at the Queensbridge Collective with oak-fired steaks, a full raw bar, and an expansive outdoor terrace framed by Uptown views. Organizers say Charlotte residents will get early tastes of the menu this spring through festival pop-ups and chef collaborations. The new location will join the brand’s existing restaurants in Denver and Houston.
Where it will sit
Guard and Grace is slated to take over roughly 10,224 square feet on the 10th floor of the Vivian at Queensbridge Collective at 1111 South Tryon, with indoor dining, private rooms, and an approximately 2,000-square-foot outdoor deck, according to Axios Charlotte. Commercial listings and developer materials also confirm the address and rooftop amenities at the site, per LoopNet.
How to get an early look
For those who want in before the official opening, Guard and Grace plans to showcase menu items in Charlotte during Savor Charlotte on March 25. The restaurant will also team up with chef Andres Kaifer at Customshop on March 25 and with James Beard semifinalist Chayil Johnson at Community Matters Cafe on April 14, as reported by The Charlotte Observer. The Observer notes that ticketing details for the April 14 collaboration had not yet been released at the time of publication.
What to expect on the plate
Diners can expect oak-fired prime beef, towering seafood platters, house-made charcuterie, and seasonal vegetable dishes backed by an extensive wine and cocktail program, according to the restaurant’s menu and event descriptions on Guard & Grace's site. The Denver flagship’s inclusion in the MICHELIN Guide further cements the steakhouse’s national reputation.
Why this matters for the Queen City
Developers say Guard and Grace will help draw both residents and visitors to the crossroads of Uptown and South End, and Queensbridge itself has been pitched as an amenity-rich mixed-use destination, per coverage by CLTtoday. The arrival of Guard and Grace adds a nationally recognized steakhouse to Charlotte’s fast-growing roster of high-profile openings and gives locals another rooftop dining option with skyline views.
