The victims, a 77-year-old woman and a 23-year-old woman, sustained facial lacerations and were taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where they were listed in stable condition. Police identified the suspect as Bryce Montesdeoca, 26, who is facing assault charges. The incident occurred near Underhill Avenue and Bruckner Boulevard.
What Police Say
The NYPD says the attack unfolded around 7:30 p.m. Monday when a man approached the two women inside the building and allegedly brandished a cutting instrument. After the slashing, he fled the scene before officers arrived. EMS treated the victims on site, then transported them to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where officials said both women were in stable condition.
