Bellevue’s downtown core is about to smell a lot better. Baba’s Kabab Shop, a new Pakistani fast-casual spot from the team behind Naan N Curry, is moving into the retail corridor with a menu built around chargrilled kababs, slow-simmered curries and biryani. Owner Shan Janjua says the focus is on Pakistani comfort food that highlights whole spices instead of just cranking up the heat, with an early-spring debut planned as construction and kitchen build-out wrap up.
Speaking with What Now Seattle, Janjua said the Bellevue move is about expanding the footprint of Pakistani food on the Eastside and creating a triangle with existing locations in Issaquah and Renton. He added that the Bellevue design is meant to invoke nostalgia from the Southeast Asia part of the Indian subcontinent while still delivering an upscale dining vibe.

The new spot is set for 595 106th Ave. NE in downtown Bellevue. Permit records in the City of Bellevue permit portal show tenant alteration and kitchen permits filed and issued for "Baba's Kabab Shop" in 2025. Those public records list installation of Type I hoods along with rooftop make-up air and exhaust equipment as part of converting the space.

Baba’s comes from the same crew behind Naan N Curry, which has long served Pakistani staples in the 425 with sit-down and takeout locations in Issaquah and Renton. Naan N Curry lists both outposts along with the menu favorites that helped inspire the new Bellevue concept.

Janjua told What Now Seattle he is targeting an early-spring opening. In the meantime, the team is using its website and social channels to share hiring news and launch updates. The Baba’s Kabab Shop official site includes a signup form and hiring contact details, and those channels are expected to carry the official opening date along with the full menu rollout.
