Last Saturday, St. Johns County Fire Rescue hosted the Winter Cadet Games, an event designed to foster competition and camaraderie. According to a social media post from the department, the games supported the Florida Fire Chiefs’ Association Fire Cadet Section and aimed to develop the next generation of firefighters and emergency medical providers.
Chief McGee highlighted the program’s mission to develop local talent, emphasizing training in fire service skills, emergency medicine, and leadership. The initiative aims to provide meaningful opportunities for local youth, helping them grow into responsible young adults with strong leadership skills and sound decision-making abilities.
The event was deemed a success thanks to the collective efforts of department members who assisted. Chief McGee emphasized the importance of giving cadets a platform to both learn and demonstrate their skills. St. Johns County Fire Rescue congratulated Cadet Post 343 for finishing third in the firefighter relay competition.
