Summer might feel far off, but Denver's big amusement spots are already in full-on hiring mode for the 2026 season. Two of Colorado's marquee attractions are posting thousands of openings this week, trying to lock in lifeguards, ride operators, food-service workers and maintenance crews before the warm weather stampede hits. Teens, college students and anyone hunting for flexible seasonal work are squarely in their sights, with parks dangling training, free season passes and end-of-season bonuses to sweeten the deal.
Elitch Gardens Is Hiring For 2026 Season
Elitch Gardens lists seasonal jobs across more than a dozen departments and advertises pay that starts at about $19.21 per hour for many roles. Most positions are open to applicants 16 and older, and the park directs would-be staffers to its online recruiting portal for full job descriptions and applications.
Water World Wants Lifeguards And Park Staff
Water World is loading up on lifeguards, park attendants, food-service workers, security staff and more. The park highlights an "End of Season Bonus Program" that can tack on up to $1 per hour. Attendants must be 14 by May 1 for the season, and perks include a free season pass, discounted tickets and free beverages while on duty. Training for many roles begins in mid-April, and the park notes it is aiming for a Memorial Day weekend opening.
Numbers, Dates And Hiring Fairs
According to 9NEWS, Elitch Gardens is looking to bring on roughly 1,500 workers this season, while Water World is recruiting about 1,000 staff. 9NEWS reports that Elitch will hold hiring fairs the weekend of Feb. 28 to March 1 at the park's front-entry pavilion at 2000 Elitch Circle. The outlet also notes Elitch's Season Pass weekend on April 11, with the park set to open to the public on April 18. "Being part of the Elitch Gardens team is a truly unique and rewarding experience," General Manager Rick Howarth told 9NEWS.
How To Apply
Both parks are steering applicants online. Job seekers can find Elitch's listings on Elitch Gardens and Water World's openings through Water World. Water World notes that lifeguard training is held onsite before opening, with a $105 fee for new guards and $75 for returning guards, and that many positions begin training in mid-April ahead of the park's Memorial Day weekend opening.
